NOUN E-Exam Advice For Newcomers

NOUN E-exams – National Open University Of Nigeria E-Examination Procedures For 100-200 Level Students, NOUN E-exam Portal

As a new student at the National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN), you may be wondering how to write NOUN e-exams or what the procedures are for writing NOUN e-exams. If this is the case, you need not fret.

In this article, I will explain everything you need to know about the NOUN e-examination. As a new NOUN student, there is important information you need to know before you enter the exam venue.

Each pupil will receive the same set of questions, but the order of the questions will be random. For example, your Number 1 query may appear as Number 6 on the screen of another user. The options may also be dispersed, such that your option A may be someone else’s option D.

The topic is a combination of OBJ and fill-in-the-blank. OBJ is typically between 35-40%, while fill-in-the-gap is between 60-65%.

The ratio of OBJ to fill-in-the-blank questions varies depending on the course for which you are taking the examination.

Some of the questions from OBJ are replicated in the fill-in-the-gap section. It is therefore suggested that, if you have forgotten some answers, you attempt other questions, as you may discover the correct response along the way. (Please give close attention)

5. All courses contain 70 or 120 questions, with the exception of mathematics courses, which contain only 35 questions, each of which is worth 2 points.

6.The timer begins as soon as you begin the exam; therefore, do not squander time attempting to solve difficult questions; instead, attempt the questions to which you already know the answers first. In fact, the majority of the time the correct answers are located in the front. Be patient as you respond to the queries.

7.In contrast to TMA, which displays all questions on a single page, the computer will only display one question per page. Click the “Next” button to view the subsequent questions, or the “Previous” button to view the previous questions.

As you attempt each question, you will be able to view the ones you have answered and the ones you have not answered (in various colors) displayed below the current page.

This will allow you to readily identify unanswered questions and view them whenever you desire.

8. The timer will end as soon as you log out of the system, and if you log back in, it will resume from where you left off, but the questions and answers will be dispersed.

9. Explore the power of prayer. This may sound strange to some, but pray before entering the exam room or beginning the exam, as you may be provided with a system that may malfunction or develop issues during the exam. This may have an effect on the performance of the affected pupils, and it may also take a considerable amount of time for the system engineer to arrive and diagnose/repair the problem. Time has already been lost, and there is little or nothing that can be done about it.

10. Please note that the management has taken measures to mitigate impersonation such that your picture will appear on all the pages of the exam question… Anyone caught impersonating will be summarily dealt with.

11. Immediately you visit the e-exam portal you will be required to login with your matric number (just as you did in your TMA portal). So make sure you write your matric number where you can easily find it (in case you don’t know it offhand).

12. These are the basic buttons on the page and their functions:

– NEXT: when you click this button you will be able to access the next set of questions

– PREVIOUS: when you click this button you will be able to access previously viewed questions

– LOGOUT: when you click this button you will be logged out of the page unless you log in again

– SUBMIT: this is the execution button; you should only click it after you have answered all the questions. On clicking the SUBMIT button you will be notified if you still have some unanswered questions left. Make sure you review your work before hitting this button.

13.Upon clicking the SUBMIT icon, you will immediately see your score. After receiving your score, it is recommended that you record it in a secure location so that you can compare it to the comprehensive results that NOUN will release following the examination period. This will serve as evidence if your transcript differs from the one released by the school and you wish to file a complaint.

14.The exam is computer-based, with pre-programmed answers that will be graded by a computer rather than a human. If you enter a response that is not programmed, you will receive a score of zero. Ensure that you compose the answers accurately and employ proper spelling.

15. In addition to the foregoing, please note that you cannot use your own English when answering fill-in-the-gap questions; you must answer it exactly as it appears in the course material or in the TMA question. This is due to the fact that your responses will be graded by a computer and the answers are pre-programmed; anything outside of this will be marked as incorrect.
